Welcome to the UF Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society!

What We’re About

The University of Florida Chapter of The Wildlife Society is a professional development organization that provides its members with the tools necessary to become future wildlife professionals.

We also have lots of social events for everyone to bond with each other and have fun in nature, no matter what field you are going into.

Local and global.

While our club has a special focus on our local Florida ecosystems and natural phenomena, we are committed to a global impact and passion.

Student-Led

We’re for the students by the students, which means we get to do things like graffiti baby Yoda onto walls just because. On a serious note, it means that you get your voice represented and heard, and that the “youth” element of curiosity and exploring is ingrained into our club’s very fiber.

A Strong Community
for everyone

Our club prides itself on being a community by welcoming members from different backgrounds and perspectives to all come be a part of the same organization. Everyone is welcome at our meetings and to come take part in our events, as long as they respect our people and our planet.

Experiential: actually do stuff!

The beauty of our club is that we actually go and do stuff. From Beast Feast to Conclave, we hold multiple events for our members to enjoy with both each other and the Earth. Outside of formal events and meetings, club members are welcome to hang out and often find themselves adventuring together whether that’s campus or camping.

Our club has fun in a bunch of different ways, whether that’s:

Camping

Camping out right in the middle of nature, getting to know both fellow club members and fellow living creatures and stepping out of our comfort zones together.

Birding

Identifying different species whether by sound or by appearance, and learning about and appreciating the incredible biodiversity of FL & beyond.

Fossil Hunting

Our club helps students learn about and engage with animals of all kinds- even fossilized ones.

So much more!

Whether you’re into herping or eating (or both), we have something for you!
